A place to breathe….

I arrived Christmas Day and straight from the airport we went to KFC for lunch. Yes KFC po because I miss the food and that’s the only one that we can see on our way home.

I was feeling so hot and want to change into something cool at once and only to remember that I dindn’t bring any clothes and the old clothes that I have are something that I don’t want to wear anymore. So immediately after taking a bath we went straight to the mall to buy slippers and a few clothes that I can wear for the day. It was so funny I was wearing a loose shirt, skirt and my dad’s slipper when we went to the mall. It seems like the sales lady don’t want to entertain my questions and requests. Hmmmm discrimination hahahahaha but I wouldn’t blame them I really look stupid =)

So finally I bought a nice pair of sandals and i already kept the oversize slippers in the bag but wasn’t able to buy any clothes. We’ve bought some grocery, mostly some drinks because we have my tito and tita plus emil at home already and we don’t have anything to serve yet.

After that we spent most of the night cleaning the house yes cleaning the house on christmas day. I, archie, mother, father plus tito and tita were helping to clean the house. You see we just transferred and it was a mess and my siblings will be arriving the next day so we really have to clean.

We didn’t have any special food on that day. I just gave my parents and archie the gifts that I bought, gifts that I’ve always wanted to buy but cannot afford. Seeing their excited faces and smile was truly worth it and being with them was what Christmas was all about for me.

First time in my life that I ever had a 3 weeks vacation leave from work and it sure felt good.

I left Geneva at 9:20 in the morning on the 24th of December, yes I celebrated the noche buena on board klm flight going home to the Philippines. I finally landed at 9:40 am on 25th of December. I was so restless during the whole trip, I watched 3 movies, listened to endless music of pussycat dolls, beyonce, abba, barry manillow and more, also watched several tv shows while on board. Restless because I was so excited to finally be home after 7 months of being away.

Landing the NAIA airport gave me a different kind of joy. Finally people are greeting me on the language that I know and the happy faces of Filipinos are really exceptional!

So finally I saw my family and archie waiting at the arrival area. It feels good to be finally be with them. We talk everyday on the phone since I left but it’s still different to finally touch them again and just be with them.

The 3 weeks vacation was packed with so many activities from christmas, family, friends, shopping, dentist, parlor, house blessing, gimik, house renovation, joy ride, boracay, legal papers, turn over and so much more. There were so many people to see, so many things to do and yet so little time. I want to apologize for my friends and families that I wasn’t able to see and be with. I will make it up with you soon.

The vacation was fun, refreshing and worth it. I came back here with a new look, fresh mind and ready to face all challenges of work and life but I will never stop missing home and i’m looking forward for the day that I can go home again.
